Tim Taylor is the Director of
Bands at Terry High School and in his twenty third year as a
music educator. He taught in southeast Arkansas, west and
central, Texas prior to coming to Richmond/Rosenberg. He serves
as the conductor of the Symphonic Band, Cadet Band, Jazz
Ensemble, and the director of the Terry High School Marching
Band. His bands consistently earn superior ratings and
Sweepstakes at U.I.L. Concert and Sight Reading Contest and his
Jazz Ensembles has been named the Best in Class at several jazz
festivals across Arkansas and Texas. Additionally, his concert
ensembles were both Best in Class and Grand Champion in
Arkansas, Texas and Florida and several invitational festivals
and state sponsored events.
Mr. Taylor graduated from Leland
High School in 1979 and then received a Bachelors degree in
Music Education from Delta State University and Masters degree
in Education from the Texas A and M Commerce in Commerce, Texas.
He has been an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the
Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas in the areas of
conducting, jazz, marching band, and music education.
His professional affiliations
include Texas Music Educator’s Association, Texas Band Master’s
Association, Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association,
Texas Classroom Teacher Association and Association of Texas
Professional Educators. Mr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his
wife Terrie and their three children Lance, Brad and Timara.
